But actually, then it just ended up being able to do so much more.
So it's a great career.
It's a great profession.
Not many people, I think, get to anywhere near 24 years, nor to do some of the things that I've been able to do.
So I'm very grateful for it.
Yeah, I've tried to all the time.
And I think if you don't get bored with the portfolio, if you don't get bored with the work, if you keep being respectful of the fact that
people choose to vote for you or not vote for you every three years.
It's amazing how you can get a lot out of it if you put a lot in.
And it's nothing much more than that.
You know, it's like in your job, Mike.
You wouldn't last long if you didn't put the work in.
Well, you know I'm not.
Well, I just went off after things.
So, for instance, when I came in and I got at the very start and I had all this legal and business experience and I was given National Library, Internal Affairs and Associate Health, an opportunity came up for me to
to get a look at the Agent Orange question about it for our troops who'd been in Vietnam, and I just turned it into a health issue.
So you can take all sorts of things and turn them into whatever issues you need them to be.
Oh, massive, massive, massive.

I know that I couldn't have done what I've done in the style I have if I didn't know I always had a career to go to if this didn't work out.
