Tesla closed the year with lower sales in Europe as Chinese auto giant BYD continued to grow.

According to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association, new car registrations for Tesla models slumped 20% on-year to about 35,000 units in December.

Annually, Tesla sales dropped 27% to roughly 238,000 units.

In contrast, according to ACEA data, registrations for China's BYD in Europe more than tripled to over 187,000 for the whole year.

Globally, Tesla's sales fell 9% in 2025.

The company has lost its crown as the world's leading EV maker to BYD.

Micron Technology plans to invest about $24 billion in Singapore over the next 10 years as it expands its manufacturing facility to meet surging demand for memory chips amid the AI boom.

According to the country's Economic Development Board, Micron manufactures about 98% of its top-end flash memory chips, known as NAND, in Singapore.

The chip giant said today it broke ground on an advanced wafer fabrication facility located within the company's existing NAND manufacturing complex there.

Micron said wafer output is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2028.

And Pinterest is laying off about 15% of its workforce, or roughly 700 jobs, as part of a restructuring aimed at pivoting resources toward higher growth areas such as AI.

The social media platform makes money through advertising, and the company has been hurt by a recent pullback in spending among larger companies.

Its CFO said in November that advertising pricing declined 24% in the third quarter.

Shares have lost roughly 23% of their value over the past year.

Pinterest said the restructuring is projected to be largely complete by the end of September.
