And he was removed, effectively sacked from

from that position in February this year because of his connections with Jeffrey Epstein and allegations of misconduct.

Yes, and that really is at the heart of it.

It's important to point out that this relationship with Jeffrey Epstein was a friendship.

There are pictures, there's a rather famous picture of Mandelson in a bathrobe sitting chatting to Epstein, but there's nothing to do with

Epstein's issues of sexual trafficking.

This is not what Mandelson is alleged to be involved with.

What Mandelson is alleged to have done is passed on sensitive information that he had as a minister in the Labour government, passed it on to Epstein.

That information may have ended up in the hands of foreign entities.
