This investigation is ongoing and

Lord Mandelson says that he has done nothing wrong.

But that information came out through the Epstein files being released by the Department of Justice in America.

When he was appointed the ambassador to the US for the UK,

It was already known that he had a relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

That was already out there.

And yet he was appointed anyway.

This particular situation now is about the revelations that show that he may have passed on this information.

Obviously, incredibly serious.

Sir Keir Starmer says that he knew nothing of

Mandelson passing on that information, which is revealed in those emails.

So Starmer is now in very hot water, not just because he was the one who appointed Mandelson, but also because as was revealed only recently from a Guardian investigation, the Guardian newspaper did an investigation that has shown that

Peter Mandelson did not pass his security vetting and was appointed anyway.

Now, Sir Keir Starmer says he had no idea that he didn't pass his security vetting, that that information was not passed on to him from the foreign office, from his foreign office.

So this is an incredibly difficult situation for Sir Keir Starmer.

He is having to answer questions in the House about it and his prime ministership is hanging by a thread.

Yes, and I think that is what is being seriously questioned at the moment, is his judgment.

I don't think really that people believe that he is lying to the House.

So Keir Starmer is considered a very just person.

He's obviously a lawyer by trade, a human rights lawyer at that.
