We begin in Arizona.

Authorities releasing a man detained in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.

The man who only wants to be identified as Carlos said he was detained after a traffic stop.

He spoke with reporters outside his home in Rio Rico, Arizona.

And Carlos added that he does not know who Guthrie is or why law enforcement thought he might be connected to her kidnapping.

The case has attracted international attention.

It took a dramatic turn when the FBI released photo and video images of the possible suspect outside Guthrie's home near Tucson.

approaching the front door with what appears to be a handgun in a holster and carrying a large backpack.

Guthrie is the mother of Today Show anchor Savannah Guthrie.

She was reported missing on February 1st.

Authorities believe she was taken against her will with the suspect disconnecting the camera doorbell.
