I think I rate him because he drummed for Lou Reed for 15 years and he knows David Byrne and I'm like, I'm going to make a record with him.

two things don't really align.
It's like, you could have gone and worked with Celine Dion's producer, or you could have gone and worked with, you know, Stockake and... No, I chose to work with Fred Maher because he was cool.
And he had seen me in a club, The Continental, in Greville Street, singing jazz when I was with I'm Talking.
And he said, I'd like to make a jazz album with you, Kate.
And so it was the first thing I did when I left Superstars.
I go to New York.
I plant myself into New York and I make a jazz album, which nobody wants.
And it was wonderful.
And it hurt me.
And I never recovered until...
Mushroom came along and said, Kate Sobrano, you better make a record with us because it's time.
And I made Pash.
