quarter three quarters of a million listeners there that's obviously a big platform in and of itself so to be fair to them I think they've gone beyond that but I think some of the criticism of maybe the humor style is valid but it also comes from a place of maybe not being the target audience for it as well

I think to an extent it is, yeah.

And I kind of hear both sides of that.

And to think specifically about the two Johnnies,

The attitude that I hear directed towards them from people when I'm in Dublin is very, very different to when I'm back home in Galway.

I'm not saying everybody outside of Dublin loves the two Johnnies or everybody in Dublin hates them, but it's really, really...

I think divisive because some people on one hand will say like I don't get it at all and I don't understand the humor and I think they're terrible and they're kind of undeniable in one respect whether you think they're talented or not the figures and the longevity kind of speaks to itself as well because they've been around for the guts of a decade now is it snobbery?

I think so yeah because like I spend a not insignificant amount of time around people from rural backgrounds and talking to people in rural towns and villages and

it's not uncommon for someone to pull out the phone and be like, look, like the two Johnnies, here's a clip of something that they had off 2FM or off their podcast.

And if that were to happen somewhere in Dublin when I'm with my Dublin mates, it'd be like, there's definitely going to be someone in the room who's like, turn that off because it's two Johnnies, they're rubbish.

Whereas,

I've been in rooms where people are watching or listening to something from the two Johnnies and everybody's laughing and having a great time.

So it's an interesting case study in that urban-rural divide.

And I think interesting as well that, I don't know, there's maybe a little bit of self-awareness to it on their part as well because Johnny B does have his D4 dad character and likes to take a crack off the South Dublin crowd as well because, look at...

that's funny too.

And that's an easy target for people as well.

I think they'll be still around for a very long time.

Like when you're still selling out live shows in the likes of the Three Arena and big outdoor venues like Musgrave Park and Cork and St Anne's Park here in Dublin.

That's not something that's going to go away anytime soon.

When you're able to pack out a big stage at the likes of an electric picnic, I think you're showing that you have staying power.
