So he called his parents his parents and he called us his mother and father and there was a gasp.
People went, who are they?
But it was really healing.
Very healing for me.
Yeah, and I felt really proud of him that he could do that, say that and love his parents but still show respect for us.
Exactly, and that's what happened to his sisters.
Neither of their mothers wanted to have anything to do with them.
And they're heartbroken.
There are so many stories in adoption.
So many girls like me in the 50s, 60s, even the 70s gave our babies up because we were told it was the best thing to do.
But it wasn't the best thing to do.
And those mothers are still out there.
Some haven't told anybody.
I said, oh, Meredith.
But she had you and you were so special for me.
