He's throwing Addison Barger into a big spot and saying prove it.

And he's doing it because he believes in him.

That's the same reason Nathan Lucas is batting number two.

I know he's not the buzziest name on this team.

They just trust the guy.

This is based on trust early in the season.

You're not chasing upside and stuff.

John Schneider is putting a lot of trust in Addison Barger.

And what I love about Barger's game right now, guys...

is that I think it's making sense to him.

You know, everything about him is maxed out.

He's the strongest, the fastest, throws the hardest.

Everything is the hardest, the fastest, the most powerful.

But I think he's finally starting to wrap his mind around those capabilities.

And he's understanding that you do not need to be trying harder than everyone at all times.

Okay, that doesn't always work in baseball.

He is starting to wrangle in those skills.

And we saw that in the World Series.
