Then the Tuesday, they had to transfer her to Crumlin Hospital because they thought she had to go to an ECMO machine.
Horrible.
And it's so quick.
And this is the reality.
And, you know, and everybody's experience is different.
But, you know, for me personally, as a parent, I was just terrified.
Didn't know what to think.
You know, as you said, I thought she was just going and she was going to get an alveoli from the doctor and come home.
And that was it.
But then to go in and seeing your child in a bed with loads of hooked up to loads of machines is horrible.
And, you know, it's crazy because Sophie deteriorated so rapidly.
know as i said like she was at home she was walking around the house and then the time to gp it was just bang you know and this is the thing with sepsis early detection and early treatment is so critical for her or you know for anybody i should say sorry yeah but you know but essentially they had to put her to send her to crumlin hospital because they because she was so severe it was to take over her her heart and her lungs and stuff like that
But yeah, so we went into Crumlin Hospital and like that, it's terrifying because, you know, we've basically rushed out of Crumlin and we rushed out of Temple Street.
And when she's been put into the ambulance, I'll never forget it.
She was getting, you know, the guard escort over and all of a sudden the alarms are going off when she's getting into the ambulance and, you know, there's something wrong, you know, but they got it sorted and got her over there.
And she spent two weeks in ICU in Crumlin Hospital.
And she, you know, eventually, you know, we got her, we woke her up on Christmas Day was when she woke up.
But unfortunately for Sophie, you know, the sepsis was so severe that, you know, like that she had to get on dialysis and it attacked basically everything.
And I remember looking in there and her, you know, the amount of medication that she was on, you know, they have those automatic dispensers beside the bed.
And I remember it was like looking inside.
