So at that time, Bell South was, you know, the biggest telco probably in America.
You know, they had been broken up by that time from the AT&T days.
At that time, the people who did phone lines, right?
So those are the official Bell South technicians.
They drive the fancy trucks.
They have all the equipment.
And when they made the shift to high-speed internet, that means you had to actually touch the computer.
And I think as a union, they're like, look, we don't touch the computer.
We don't even go into the house.
We get to the D mark and we stop.
And so they had contractors come in.
And the contractor's job were to come in, have to do a little bit of wiring.
So if you had to run some cable, you did that.
Create five cables, you did that.
Orange, green, white, green, blue, white, blue, something like that.
It's burning your head now.
You know, so you did whatever it took.
And the other thing you had to do was you had to open the computer.
You had to make a decision, right?
If they had a new enough computer, they can use a USB modem.
