Those were terrible.
They always broke and you would always come out for a repair.
But for a new install, if you really wanted to do a good job, you install a NIC, right?
A Cat5 port on the back of their computer.
And at that time, like we're talking Windows 98.
And so usually, I don't know, 20% of the time, as you're installing the drivers, the computer would crash.
And now you have a whole nother situation.
You have to now troubleshoot getting this thing back online or back operational.
But if everything went smoothly, they now had a network card and then you had an external modem that then you connected to the phone line and they had this high speed internet connection and then you connected the network cable.
And I did that for about, let's say a year.
And then I started doing the businesses.
So you're going to people's homes, like you're going door to door.
And then when you go to a business, you would hook up one computer, but there's obviously eight computers there.
And only one of them has internet access.
And I remember at the time, you know, the business owner, it could be like a small insurance company.
And they would say like, hey, how do we get all the other ones online?
And the first time someone asked me that, I'm like, I don't know, man.
I don't, we put it on one computer.
Yeah, we make sure it works.
But then I decided like, well, let me go learn.
