It was before the days of spam filters.
And spamming became illegal.
One of my big jobs in the 90s was the job for AOL.
They'd got a $6 million judgment against a guy who was on the run in the Philippines
And they couldn't find him so they asked me to track him down and I went over to the Philippines and located him and had him arrested by the police.
How hard was he to find?
Well, at that point, by the mid to late 90s, I had very good contacts there in the police, former investigators, former intelligence people.
I had all the connections.
So I was able to tap into my connections and do checks on him and ended up getting him arrested.
And whilst he was under arrest at the airport, he actually went to fly out.
And they detained him.
The police held him because the police chief was a friend of one of my operatives.
And we went and served him with the AOL judgment.
You've been involved in raiding online scam offices all over the world, Ken.
What are they like inside?
These are corporate offices, no different to walking in the office of Microsoft.
You walk in these call centres, there are people sitting at desks on computers with headphones and earpieces and they're talking away.
They're doing sales, telesales work.
So you wouldn't know the difference between a telesales marketing company...
and a criminal boiler room run by organised crime groups.
