Maybe we'll get back to where it was in the 70s, 80s and 90s with six or seven or eight countries playing test cricket.

And we know which countries they'll be there.

One or two we might argue about.

And sitting beside that will be the shiny new sibling, 2020 cricket.

One day international cricket, the 50 over cricket, I think it'll be gone.

It might be still around for the World Cup, but that'll be the only time it's played.

And we won't see very much of that.

So two formats of the game, but 2020 dominating the landscape at that stage.

And I'm reasonably comfortable with that as long as Test cricket is sustained and is played in those countries.

Now, the issue that Cricket Australia faces is that it has one of several 2020 leagues that sit at the next level from the IPL.

And they're being left behind to some extent.

And I've looked at some numbers there that in the IPL, the top paid players get about $4 million.

And Cameron Green is one of those.

I think there are

Six Australian players who earn $2 million or more, three between $500,000 and $1.5 million, and seven under $500,000, the lowest of which is Xavier Bartlett on $122,000.

So lots of money there.

The 100, England's competition, it has a salary cap of $4 million.

The highest paid player there is $890,000.

The highest paid Australian is Tim David on $650,000.

Now, we come to the BBL and we've got a salary cap of $3.1 million.
