Today, we're kicking off the year by talking about a case that

so many of you brought to my attention when I covered Eliza Fletcher midway through 2025.

And it's because Sydney's case is very similar.

We're going to be talking about 25-year-old Sydney Sutherland and her heartbreaking story.

Just like Eliza, she was a young woman who was out on a run when she was murdered.

Her story is absolutely heart-wrenching.

I mean...

It's just so unnecessary and out of nowhere.

I mean, no one could have seen this coming.

And I actually mentioned Sydney briefly in the Eliza Fletcher episode.

I knew some of the details, but I didn't get fully into it until preparing for this episode.

And man, I am just so disturbed and so sad for her family.

And I find cases like Eliza's and Sydney's really important to talk about for several reasons.

I mean, for starters, these are women who deserve to be remembered, of course.

And I want to highlight them for who they were, not just what happened to them, not just the headlines surrounding their names.
