And that happens.
Some clubs are pretty good at doing that.
It changes over the years because clubs get in different situations and whatnot.
But it happens a lot.
That's why the salary cap is very, very high.
fluid is probably the way to describe that.
It just changes all the time.
What doesn't get spent this year can go on next year's cap, things like that.
So no one's ever really right on what the cap is.
And every club, and some clubs, Canterbury, for example, Phil Gould, for example, Phil Gould rates one of his strengths as, well, he doesn't talk about it this way, but he rates one of his strengths as being able to move players around.
And you've just got to see.
Within three years of the Bulldogs, they completely turned over their roster, everybody except for one player.
They just moved them all on.
And that was guys who were on long-term deals.
And there's a way to get them out.
The famous one was Greg Eastwood.
Back when Des had him at Canterbury, he signed for something like $200,000, $400,000, $800,000.
And so they back-ended his deal.
And Des is always very confident that he could get guys out.
