That's part of what they've really accepted when they signed the deal, that they probably wouldn't get to that third year.

If a club can get you, say, $800,000 in your final year, but they move you on and they'll pick up $250,000 of that, and then wherever you've gone, they've only got to pay you $550,000 out of it, then they think they've got a deal because they're getting you for that first season for $550,000 when you're an 800-year player.
All that sort of horse trading goes on in the game.
That's probably one of the more fascinating things.
