You've seen more of George than me.
I'm kind of jumping into this.
I saw most of last year.
I've seen what I've seen this year.
It wasn't too far ago where we were talking about George Springer, and then he comes back and has this amazing season last year.
I think George is kind of in the same place as the team right now.
We're still trying to figure out who the hell they are.
We're trying to figure out, is George Springer more the 2024 guy or the 2025 guy?
And obviously, the toe injury kind of has taken him in and out of the lineup.
He's underperformed a little bit.
He's getting a little bit older.
You would just think at this point, like, there's not a whole lot that George can really work on in terms of mechanics.
That's fair.
And it is who he is.
I think right now, and I don't know what the metrics are in terms of, like, swing speed and all that sort of stuff, but I would imagine things are starting to slow down a little bit more as he's getting a little bit older.
You would hope when you have an older guy like that who's been around a long time, you rely on your brain and your experience a little bit more than your actual tools at that point.
To me, it seems like he's still kind of going up there expecting to get fastballs and trying to adjust, where I think when you get a little bit older, you might get pitched a little bit differently.
I think you have to start to use your instincts and your intellect and your experience, and maybe it's time for him to go up there and sit on some breaking balls because โ
He's not taking great swings at breaking balls when he's sitting fastball.
So sometimes you have to get off the fastball, hit the breaking ball.
