And I don't think there's a huge likelihood of that.
I mean, I would sell Toad Gakpo.
I think we need to improve on him, even as a squad player.
But I think if he stays, I can't see them spreading whatever budget they have thinner than two.
Two new forwards.
I would think they would aim for one of those forwards to be one that could play wide centrally as well as wide.
That's my belief as to what Liverpool will do.
We'll come on to talk about how one of those possible options, Anthony Gordon, has now gone.
But where do you stand on the numbers going into town?
In a sense, sorry to interrupt you, but it just occurred to me, does the Eketike injury being so potentially long-term, or so the end is so endlessly not in sight, does it in a way simplify one sort of corner, one area of the debate about how Liverpool set up an attack?
Because had he remained fit going into this summer and available for the beginning of next season, I think we would have spent the entire, excuse my language, fucking summer talking about playing one behind two forwards.
Mm-hmm.
It's almost as if that's not a thing at the moment.
Maybe long-term it's a thing, but at the moment, Jesus, because to talk that way again, you'd have to see Liverpool spend another ยฃ80 million on a central striker, a player who is uniquely or primarily a central striker.
whilst still retaining Cody Gatpo.
Yeah, I mean, if we're talking about what, you know, my wish in terms of keeping a number of bodies in the squad so that we can match Arsenal's quantity and quality, then I wouldn't be selling Gakpo.
But if money is short and we need to improve, then I would be.
I don't want to over digress onto that, Adam.
So how do you see things changing?
What would you like to happen this summer?
