Unfortunately, this is the situation you put yourself in when you put a manager on a three year deal and no one would celebrate a new deal now.

No one is expecting a new deal now.

At the same time, it's a very strange situation to be going into a season where the manager could be off at the end of it.

So, unfortunately, this is the bet we've made for ourselves and Liverpool are going to have to lie on it.

And I think what Liverpool are going to do is, I might be wrong here, but I think Liverpool are going to go with him for the season.

I think Liverpool are going to try and fill the holes in the squad and give him all the tools that he should require.

And if Liverpool are challenging at Christmas, then I think you might see a new deal for that on the slot.

And I think Liverpool are in a battle for fourth or fifth at Christmas.

And unfortunately, that sounds terrible now to say we could be sat here in the same position in 12 months' time.

I think it's realistic that Liverpool, you know, if they go again without a slot on the 3rd in January, they'll just see the season out and probably not give them a new deal.

If Liverpool end up in a situation where they're really struggling like this year, 5th, 6th, 7th, then they might have to act on it sooner.

But I think he's going to be the manager next season.

I'd say 8 or 9 out of 10 fans want to change now.

And that's not a good start for the season, especially if you don't navigate that market properly.

If you can't find the right wingers, if Newcastle don't want to deal with you on Anthony Gordon, you can't get their man down, all of a sudden...

you're shopping for bargains and you're looking at the squad going we haven't got the tools to do this and the managers like I haven't got the tools to do this could get really really sticky so it's a weird situation the managers contract but I think my guess is they're going to run with it and see where we're at at Christmas time and I think if we're challenging they'll get a new deal and if we're about that top four they'll just ride it out
