We're just taking a little short walk today since we do have some other stuff today.
But it is nice to get your steps in in the morning, I think.
My friend group is fun and I've known them for a while, but they're also a little toxic.
They drink a lot and there's a lot of gossiping.
I don't always feel amazing with them or comfortable.
How do you walk away from a social circle you've known for a while?
I feel these connections would be weird to let go of.
But they're still going to gossip at lunch.
I feel that sometimes with the gossiping, you're right, sometimes it can be fun.
Trust me, I love spilling tea.
But I also think that sometimes it can be really, as she said, toxic when people are... Yeah, once it gets mean, then I don't approve of it.
When people are complaining constantly, saying bad things about other people, saying bad things about you to your face, it is not fun to be around.
But you might be like, we went to college together, and how can you just drop a college friend?
Yes, thank you.
I think think about the things that bond you with this friend.
Is it things that you still have values in common?
Or is it like just that you went through a certain experience together?
Because if it's just a certain experience, like you went through college, that doesn't mean you have to still keep someone...
around at the level you did then so you can still check in with people but it doesn't have to be like every week you're getting dinner or things like that i don't know really like how you wean down it is really hard but i think just setting those boundaries and being like i have this other plan um but let's do this day you know two weeks from now or whatever it is yeah do less of them yeah doing less and if they start being weird about it that's on them not on you right right
I've been a stay-at-home mom for 10 years, but now that my kids are a little older, I want to pursue a career and get a job, but I'm wondering how to confidently step into a chapter like this after so long at home.
