The Gideon, overall size is larger than the Viridian.
And we're not talking about the screen size, we're talking about the actual size of the optic itself.
But it's insignificant in my opinion, and actually adds a little bit more meat around the glass, which could potentially help protect the glass and internal components from impacts.
Hand fitting of the dovetail mount is required, but this is not a difficult task, even if you are marginally proficient with basic hand tools.
Just be sure to follow Gideon's directions and you will be fine.
Don't be like a dumbass like me and screw up the first one and have to get a replacement.
They have a video on their website and will walk you through the process.
It's very easy.
It takes less than five minutes.
The Viridian, there's no hand fitting of the dovetail, at least in our experience.
It did just kind of snap in place.
I was able to push, you know, with my thumb.
No problem there.
The aesthetics on the Viridian, I like a little bit better because the serrations on the side, and that's the Gideon right there.
We don't have the Viridian because Nick took it.
It's got matching serrations on the side.
So it does, aesthetically, it's a little bit more pleasing.
Overall, dots and glass on both are good.
They're not fantastic or anything like that, but they're good.
Window size is nearly the same.
