And they have relationships with people.

They like certain people and they dislike other people, seemingly for no particular reason.

They're quite amazing creatures.

Absolutely need to worship octopuses, I think, because they're equally as intelligent, I think, as we are.

We just don't understand their intelligence.

And I think that's part of this book as well, because there is a worship of octopuses in this book, an actual worship, because we have the octopus god, which is a central motif of this book.

I did indeed.

I had an erotic encounter between a young woman and an octopus.

It was really fun to research and it was really fun to write.

It's quite a sensual creature.

So yes, that was in my book, Triptych.

Well, we understand that he's really smart and quick-witted.

so he was a very promising student and then he became a lawyer and he was you know destined for great things and you can see it in his current the way he thinks about the world he is really funny i found myself chuckling um at his way of looking at the world almost every page elicited a smile from me or a chuckle because he has a pure sight about what's going on around him

So he always sees beneath the surface of what's happening.

So, yeah, he's a really, really fascinating character because from the outside, you know, he's been wearing the same coat for 20 years, which is smelly and he's not taking enough showers and he's put on a lot of weight because of the medication that he has.

And he hears voices, and so he responds to voices, which seems quite scary to people who are standing next to him.

But being inside his point of view and inside his head, we find that he is just looking out at the world and has this incredibly astute vision of what's going on around him.

Yeah, I would have thought 40s.

I would have picked him as 40s.

I don't think that it's very clear exactly how old he is, but we know he's been suffering from what they call schizophrenia, what he does not call schizophrenia, for over 20 years.
