And now that you see a team like Tampa Bay go, we're not going to try to do this out-slug the Yankees anymore.
Or out-slug Toronto.
And it's not a perfect science.
Look, Toronto last year had a bunch of power bats.
And they slugged their way to the World Series.
They couldn't get past the Dodgers, but they were damn close.
The Rays have not reached the mountaintop.
They were in the World Series in 2020, the COVID year, the strange year.
But I can really appreciate, and it's probably why Kevin Cash has been there and was there for a long, long time.
They have not ever really panicked and said, well, this just it's not working.
I mean, you can adapt, but you can see how they're trying to adapt.
Everybody else is zigging and they're going to zag because they know they're not going to outpay somebody for a free agent.
They have to draft and develop and get rule five guys and find those hidden pieces.
but they have the best record in the American League in a division that almost always is the bloodiest.
And I'm just saying the Royals might need, depending how the season goes, if they turn it around, then you can clip this.
It's an absolute moot point.
I'm glad they stuck to the process because they eventually turned things around.
But 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026, as a collective whole, we have not, other than a few months and a few stretches here and there, said that's a really good offense.
