Last year, there was this emphasis into we want to work the count.
We want to do what the Yankees did to us in the ALDS of make a starter, throw 90 pitches at the end of five innings, or maybe 90 pitches at the end of four innings where you're already having to go into the bullpen, but it just hasn't worked.
And you can't win a championship when you're rolling the dice.
And yes, a lot of baseball is just gambling, putting out your best lineup, putting out your best players.
But to me, there has to be, at least now, maybe a look in the mirror moment and go,
Was the roster we assembled and the hitting philosophy we've tried to adapt to able to be successful here?
Can you have this philosophy of, well, let's change the launch angle of some of these guys.
Let's hit the ball hard.
Let's barrel it up.
And I would say the last two years, Curtis,
I have been in the side of, guys, you hit the ball hard and you don't bunt guys over.
Look at some of those top offenses out there, the scary ones.
They have a bunch of guys who can hit bombs.
They have a high on base.
They just barrel everything.
The Yankees do that.
The Yankees have high on base guys.
They hit for a ton of power.
They hit the ball hard.
But I think we can say this collectively.
