Yeah, in the beginning it felt quite intense and there was constant communication, lots of affection and big talks about the future.
He did make me feel chosen and safe and I think a few weeks in, small things started to shift.

I mean, you're taught to respect people's boundaries.
So I thought complying meant I was being a good partner.
And it really escalated during my pregnancy and after our daughter...
I guess when I was most vulnerable.

Yeah, so a trauma bond kind of forms when abuse is mixed with movements of affection, remorse and promises of change.
So your nervous system becomes attached to the cycle itself.
