They could have raised like $12 billion a year.

If they had have taxed the gas corporations who are essentially getting our gas virtually for free and then flogging it off overseas, we could have raised $17 billion.

That's almost $30 billion a year.

Just think of like cancelling student debt, making housing affordable, putting dental into Medicare, putting mental health into Medicare, like all of those things we could afford as a country.

And they are decisions that our government does not have the courage to take because they're too nervous about pissing off the rich people because those people donate to their political parties or they own the newspapers that write the scary headlines.

Yeah.

Well, they deserve help.

And like, this is what the government should have done.

If they had have done a proper job on those property investor tax perks, they could have actually materially helped every person in the country, whether it's a tax-free threshold lift, whether it's increasing job seeker, as they call Newstart now, like they could have actually helped people.

And I really think that's the job of government.

You know, it's to be on our side and it's to help us.

It's not to help the 1%, the big corporations screwing us all.

It's actually their job is to help people.

And like that's what a Greens government would do.
