And I was at this workshop around how to prepare for the next election.

And there was a great organization called EU DisinfoHub.

And they're essentially a think tank that pull info to say, like, this is where we think the online space is going to go.

And these are a couple of things you need to be aware of.

And they started talking about these deep fakes.

And it was flagged to me as a young...

LGBTI, Irish, outspoken MEP, that I could be at a risk along with many other of my female colleagues, both as candidates and then as politicians who were elected.

And I was like, what?

And then I went down a rabbit hole and I was like, oh my God, these guys are, this is fact.

And I started, my team and I started putting stuff out on media to say this could happen in these elections.

And in some ways to protect ourselves, to protect me, to say you could see a deep fake, please don't believe it if you do.

But actually when you started, when you opened up the bonnet of the pink tampon looking car and you were like, oh my God, actually this is in our secondary schools across Europe.

that a synthetically made deep fake visual or video image audio file is circulating our secondary schools and again impacting the 15, 16, 17 year old school girl.

So if a young girl's face... All they need is a photo or a video.

It takes about 25 minutes to make, maybe even less.

There's a number of what we call nudification apps.

So you can pop in this image, pop in an image of you, strip your clothes down, make you look like you're having sex or in a very explicit situation and pop it out into the world.

And the problem is here.

As an Irish MEP, we have so many of the tech giants for Europe.

So I take particular creed to this.
