So things were done how they were done and you weren't really allowed to question it.

You weren't really allowed to have an opinion.

People at home wouldn't talk to each other about politics because that's how much fear they would instill in you.

They'd have people watch you.

They'd have people like monitor everything that you're doing.

So it really just wasn't a place where you could just like exist.

As a regular person.

Yes.

I think it took a lot to like just be able to like express myself.

And I think as soon as like the war started at school in the beginning, I was like, well, you know, are we allowed to talk or whatever?

And then like I became very passionate very quickly.

And we'd had those like little fights at school in between like students because like people were divided.

Some people were like, no, he's a good guy.

He's a bad guy.

Like as 12 and 13 year old kids, that's cool.

And then once I felt like I was able to speak, I did not shut up.

I did not shut up.

And to this day, I'm like, you give me rights and I'm going to take them and run.
