The Ramsey Show
Don’t Let Toxic Money Situations Keep You Trapped

Hi, thanks for taking my call. So, um, So I'm a single mom of one child. I make like $35,000 annually. I have no debt, no credit cards. I have an apartment. I have a 2014 Chevy. It's about to die. It's paid off, though. I'm a residential cleaner. I work like 20 hours, maybe a little more per week, part-time in school, long-term goals, med school. I'm in a co-parenting.

It's a high-conflict situation. I spent my last $5,000 on an attorney, and I'm going to be going back to court. Sorry. No, that's okay. And I am... Bottom line is I need to make more money while I'm going to school. I'm not really sure how. I have to get a used car because mine's breaking down.

And I'm not sure if I should invest some of the child support that I get for my daughter right now, like in a Roth IRA. I'm not sure how much. And I want to know what, with a little bit that I can save, like what can I invest and what should I invest? And I have no clue where to start. Sure, sure. Yeah.

Yeah, so I have a budget plan. Honestly, to be honest, I haven't really paid attention to it. And that's something that I... that I've been lacking consistency and discipline with. Um, so I know that and that's something I need, I need to change and I want to change. Um, you mentioned, I can go ahead.
