Yeah, awesome.
I've heard you talk about it a few times, about reaching that 100k milestone.
So why is that number so powerful psychologically, do you think?
I love that that's a Charlie Munger story as well, I think.
Charlie Munger and Warren Buffett as well, two absolute legends of the investing game.
In fact, again, for people who like watching and learning, Warren Buffett, that AGM has recently been for Berkshire, maybe the first one where he hasn't been CEO, but he still did a really fantastic interview on the world and the state of the world.
And I just love the long lens, something very human about how it relates to money and business and what's going on.
One of my favourite Charlie Munger quotes was,
during that high inflationary period, probably just before he passed away, actually, he was asked about, like, you know, what's the impact going to be of this inflation?
How concerned should people be?
And his response was basically what you might expect.
That was if he could find optimism in the world and he was about to die, then surely people could handle a little bit of inflation.
Oh, right.
Cut straight into it.
All right.
I've got to go out there and find some positives but the money aspect of it just over such a long period showing this compounding effect and actually started from pretty humble beginnings as well.
For people working towards this $100,000 and ultimately greater but that first goal, what are some of the effective ways you've seen of people managing to hit it?
business owners these people are like really good at risk like they've taken quite a big one normally I think about I've often thought about like we've made most of the money that we have in our lives I'm talking Brooke and I through starting Sharesies and that was obviously a massive risk up front because you start without any money and you leave a place that's giving you some but one of the things I've reflected on is like what gave us the comfort to
to actually take that risk without having a job and stuff like that.
And for me, part of that has been like a supportive family and an education base and a country that felt like there was enough sort of safety nets around, I guess.
