He was an excellent coach.
And I mean excellent.
Had he pursued coaching, he would have been an NBA coach.
There is no doubt in my mind.
But he caught the broadcasting bug.
And he does some work in the studios, as you know, with the Bulls basketball, with Norm Van Leer and company.
And he winds up in 2008 with a full-time job working with Neil Funk, who slid over from radio to TV.
And I came in from Toronto doing TV to do radio with Bull.
And so when you look at the volume of his run with the Bulls as a player and certainly as a broadcaster, the perfect storm was Derrick Rose, 2008.
Stacey King, 2008.
And also, Neil Funk was the perfect play-by-play individual for Stacey starting out.
Because he let Stacey be Stacey.
And Stacey would go on and have great calls.
He and Neil were tight.
And Neil...
Bless his heart.
Let Stacey tell some stories.
And it was a smooth, seamless transition.
And then Adam, of course, and Stacey were like tight, very tight, because they had similarities with music and with the genre of our culture as we see it today.
And so really, Stacey was blessed to have two outstanding play-by-play people.
