And that's the man that you're apparently waiting to start this leadership contest for, which is Andy Burnham, the mayor of Greater Manchester.
I don't know if you saw Question Time last night, but he mentioned you very generously.
This is what he said.
Why don't you just...
But he's saying something specific there, Wes.
He's saying that you're...
campaigning for the leadership and that when you're in Parliament, if there is a contest that you have triggered, he'll get involved.
He's not saying he'll trigger it.
He's saying that he'll wait for you to trigger it.
So can we assume that therefore Burnham gets in, let's say he is elected in Makefield, will you start that leadership contest that day when he's back?
And if Andy wins, good for him.
So you still intend to ignite, to start a leadership challenge?
Yeah, and I appreciate I'm the underdog.
I'm not daft.
So Burnham gets in and you're going to do it that week or the week after or whatever game.
Number 10, talking about petty factionalism, number 10 are briefing increasingly that they are more and more confident
that they could potentially, if there is a leadership contest started by you, Keir Starmer, a la the Jeremy Corbyn precedent, would go onto the ballot automatically, wouldn't have to consult Labour MPs.
They're confident, increasingly, that he might be able to win that contest.
Not just against you, which they're very confident about, but against Andy Burnham.
Well, if that's their view, knock yourself out.
