Liam Sheehan

I first met him in 2006 when he came here in Cork where he resided in Blackwater Castle, his first stop here in Ireland.

It came about, I met him because he stayed in Blackwater Castle, which is owned by a friend of mine who had been, got married just previous to that and I was his best man.

And when Michael came, he stayed, he had booked the whole castle and my business card was actually on the table and he picked it up and he inquired who I was and would I like to come down and do some entertainment.

So that's basically how it came about.

I subsequently got a call from Patrick, the owner, to come down and entertain somebody I didn't know as Michael Jackson.

And I subsequently went down and discovered it was him and his family.

Well, I suppose really when I went in, I saw in the dining room a family and I saw somebody who looked like Michael Jackson and I thought it was somebody in an impersonation night or something.

And I asked the owner, I said, look, what's going on?

He said, that is Michael Jackson.

So I suppose I was in the library and he just came in behind me and he just said, hello, Liam.

I might have, as if I needed any introduction because I was a big fan.

And, you know, my job was just to do some entertainment for himself and the kids for a bit.

Well, I suppose, basically, I was only there, supposed to be there for one night, for a couple of hours.

But, you know...

So you stayed there?

I stay there, yeah.

I stay there with him, yeah.

So I got to kind of see, not that I was in contact with him every day, but you get to see what he was doing and what he enjoyed and the food that he enjoyed and that, which was nice to see, you know.

But of course, you know, at that time I had signed a confidentiality clause, so I didn't interfere too much with anything to do with him, really, you know.

I've always described him, Ciarán, as a real gentle guy, a real gentle man, you know, very quiet in himself.
