I mean, I mostly stuck with what we recognise as Beauty and the Beast.
So it's like, it's the curse.
To be honest, it's mostly just the curse.
But there were little things like in the original one, the prince is raised by an evil fairy because his mother's off at war.
and the curse is put upon him because she, turns out she's actually been grooming him since he was a child and it's kind of, she was planning to marry him and so that kind of vibe
Does carry through.
Yeah.
That kind of darker side of things.
Yes.
Yeah, absolutely.
Yeah.
And the nature of Raleigh's curse as well.
I love true enemies to lovers, and so there had to be an element, and I've alluded to it already today, where he's already done something irredeemable, and so there's the question of how they get together, not so much if, but how.
And so for them, it is that Raleigh killed her mother, and he's also led her town into 15 years of famine.
