Scholastic reached out.
I'm publishing through Scholastic.
And so I sat there and went, eh, that's interesting.
And so when I finished the first, I did post about Battle of Eternal Night a couple of times in the writing process, but not in any kind of way that many people knew what was happening.
And then I posted a video saying, I finished my first draft.
Sure would love for someone to read it one day.
Now I'm going to go edit it.
And like,
before I was back at my desk on the Monday, the publishing director of Penguin just reached out and said,
ready, send this to Chris.
So I've always been writing.
So since I was like, I think I was about seven years old when I was like, I'm going to be an author one day.
And so I did have it in mind that BookTok would be useful to have if and when I did publish.
But I hadn't started Vow of Eternal Night at that point.
So I was writing a very different vampire book that I won't say the premise of now because one day it might be appropriate to publish it.
But it was, yeah, I had planned to build a platform that could then pivot to being an author platform.
But I also really enjoy posting on BookTok in a way that I didn't like book Twitter or Tumblr and that sort of thing.
And so I...
it's actually really hard at the moment pivoting from being just regular book talker to author book talk because it's a very different dynamic and you're interacting with people in different ways.
And I don't want to let go of the like community and encounter that I've built.
