Atlanta Airport General Manager Ricky Smith says the lines have calmed down compared to what they were last weekend.
But TSA workers are still calling out of work at high rates.
And Smith says Saturday and Sunday lines are unpredictable as more spring break travel kicks in.
He also predicts more kids and more families in line.
With all the call-outs, TSA union leaders have also expressed airport safety and national security concerns.
The Atlanta airport website still recommends travelers arrive a minimum of four hours early.

AJC president and publisher Andrew Morse announced that the paper's cutting 50 people and roughly half of those layoffs will come from the newsroom, the AJC's largest department.
Morse said that the difficult decision will accelerate the paper's revenue growth and that over the last three years, the AJC has invested heavily in editorial, product, and business teams.
The announcement comes soon after the AJC ended its print edition after 157 years.
The final newspaper was published on New Year's Eve.
At the time, critics said it was an omen of more job losses to come, and it made Atlanta one of the only major U.S.
cities without a daily printed paper.
