And then I think lastly, one of the areas that is perhaps more scientifically proven is sound.
So sound is literally vibration travelling through the air.
And certain tones or rhythms have been shown to influence brainwave activity and relaxation.
So in my own life, you've asked, what do I do?
Well, I keep it very simple.
And I try and focus on the practices that reconnect the body, my body, with natural signals.
So one of the first things I do each day is get outside for natural morning light.
That's setting up my circadian rhythm and my energy levels from the energy, the vibrational energy and the wavelengths coming from daylight.
The sun doesn't have to be shining.
We're still getting it from natural daylight.
Then I prioritise movement, so walking, stretching, a bit of lymphatic tapping, just anything that is stimulating the circulation and the energy production in my body.
Going outside, that's become a big one for me over the years.
Even just to walk outdoors, I find that that can noticeably shift stress levels and lift up my mood.
And then I'm really mindful of light exposure in the evening.
I keep the lighting softer, switch off overhead down lighters.
I've got lamps all around the house now with incandescent light bulbs just so that my body can start to wind down towards sleep.
And then sometimes I will use sound frequencies or music.
I mean, if somebody's got a sound bath going, I'm there.
I love a bit of gonging.
That's just such an amazing way to feel better and for the brain to recalibrate and to start creating more theta waves and states of deep relaxation.
