So how can the Gulf truly be safe with an existing Iranian regime?

They need regime change now at this point, even though they wanted to avoid it in the past.
Well, here we have some reporting from the New York Times that Emily flagged, which is that the MBS, the leader of Saudi Arabia, has been arguing that the United States should consider putting ground troops in Iran to seize energy infrastructure and to force the government out of power.
