And it was such a transformative experience, which I totally didn't expect because it was the first ever time I created a painting without a brush.

Can you explain?

What did you use?

So I put his music on.

That was the first step.

And my studio bounces sound in this wonderful way.

And so I put his song, Birdsong at Dusk, and it just struck me completely, like squarely in the chest.

It's such a beautiful piece.

And I was holding the brush and I had the blank canvas and I physically threw the brush away.

And I dipped my hand into the paint and I just went for it.

And I wasn't thinking...

I was truly, truly in a state of flow.

And at one point I caught myself and the tears were just running down my face.

And Simon wasn't home, so I could be as batshit as I wanted to be.

And I was like, I was talking to myself.

I said, yes, yes, you're doing it.

You're actually doing it.

And I was like coaching myself in this really wonderful, generous way.

And I was talking to Will.

I really went down the deep end.
