I don't think he's ever been the best necessarily in front of the media.

I don't think he's relished that role.

I think he's tried.

I think he faced the music every single game in the playoffs, every tough loss.

He stood up there and faced the media, which I respect about him.

That's a leader for me.

Even if you like or don't like what he said, he put his face up front and took it.

I said, fine.

Frustration boils over at times for these players, especially players that put up the numbers that both McDavid and Dreisaitl have put up.

But they haven't won, and that's how they're going to be judged.

Simple as that.

And they know it, and that's why it's cup or bust for Dreisaitl a couple years ago.

That's why they're a frustrated bunch right now after a season in which they lost the first round.

This is the expectation that they've always put on themselves.

So quite frankly...

I don't think it's any news to them that people want to take shots at them.

I don't think they really care.
