do we deal with our children and our teenagers?
In a general way?
That's a whole other podcast series, isn't it?
No, when it comes to dealing with criticism.
And, you know, you mentioned it sort of struck a bit of a nerve with me at the very beginning when you said, you know, it could be quite difficult taking criticism from your children.
And I have had to take a beat and walk away and think about it and go, actually, that's really interesting, the comment you made.
And that's how you see it.
And I'm going to take that on board and I'm going to listen to that and I'm going to, you know.
But that probably took about 15 years of raising children before I finally kind of switched into that.
So how do you know?
And gosh, it's a difficult world out there these days with social media and being online and just still this nasty old kid in the playground and things.
How do we keep our kids sort of positive and with a healthy confidence?
Yeah.
Hey, something else we wanted to touch on is there is stuff out there in the world which is outside of our control, which makes us feel very sad and sort of upset about.
And the world can actually feel a bit relentlessly negative at the moment.
How can we best protect ourselves from that negativity in the world while not just completely switching off from, you know,
Well, yes, but also just putting yourself in a bubble, tucking yourself away in a room, shutting the door.
Yes, I like to be in it.
You're quite good at stepping away and finding other things to listen to to sort of distract you from life.
But if we've got a world which is a lot more divisive and polarised and negative, is that making us more critical and judgmental, though?
