definitely have become really popular and they're popping up all over the place and the acai berry is actually you know that's the really strong purple colored berry and that's what people will see in the base of their bowl and these berries they're native to central and south america so again a relatively new food for example these really deep purple ones you know similar to something like beetroot or
dark red grapes and cherries they tend to be you know really powerfully full of antioxidants so great for nutrition also high in fiber and they do contain other vitamins the b vitamins so these antioxidants are really good for heart health the acai berries themselves we'd say you know are a great food and again of course these bowls look really in very photo you know they photograph really well for kind of they look good on instagram is what you're trying to say louise it
that's exactly what I'm trying to say and again what's also made it on Instagram are the bowls of porridge recently which again look very different to the porridge of old people are putting berries on top of their porridge and slicing their bananas and their kiwis and again that's fantastic you're adding lots of nutrition and making it look very attractive you know we do eat with our eyes and that's why I think Brian people you know have really caught on to these they are
a healthy you know they have that health halo because they're all fruit they are lots of fruit on top you can add different toppings so the my only caveat is that i think sometimes people don't realize that in fact they can be quite higher in calories like quite calorie dense now that's nothing to be worried about you know we all need calories we all need energy but you know if you're having this as kind of a snack other caveat i would have but maybe this is because i'm a mother with you know teenagers who are buying these things more often than i might
is the cost of them.
You know, they're pricey.
Yeah, it is.
And I think, you know, in terms of the nutrition, if you did have, for example, you know, a bowl of berries, I mean, berries are expensive to buy, but, you know, if you had a yogurt and maybe a banana and a kiwi and a few nuts...
You know, you might get a similar kind of nutritional punch in terms of the fibre and the vitamins and so on, you know, and you might get that for kind of three euro in a supermarket.
They are, I suppose, if people are going to eat more fruit and vegetables this way, they can be a nice addition to the diet and they certainly do look great.
