And yes, the brands do some specification and then they take whatever it is, some long time frame, five to 10 years to actually build out the full supply chain, source the thousands of parts from all the suppliers and then integrate them into a car.
They have trucks that roll up to the factory with raw ingots of aluminum, and they are casting entire engines themselves right there in Maranello.
They have 700 degree Celsius furnaces, and they operate an entire foundry right there on site.
They do the same thing for body panel work and stitching the seats and more.
When you're a big family of brands like this, you are looking for economies of scale and ways to share more across your line.
And because everything is so customizable, like we were talking about, every single one that rolls off the line is unique.
They have left their manufacturing process to be very flexible and manual.
There's humans doing manual work at every station except for one.
And that one is where they affix the windshield because you, for safety reasons, don't want to have people doing that.
But it is crazy and unheard of across the car industry to be able to make any car on any manufacturing line.
