It's a fabric that you might associate with like older ladies wear, but the cool girls have really reclaimed it as their own.

It's like a sturdier version of like a silk or satin with a sheen to it.

That's why I say like older ladies wear because if you went into an op shop, you might see a bit of taffeta around.

But now brands like Verge Girl, Hanson & Gretel and Harris Tapper have incorporated taffeta into recent collections.

So this fabric sits away from the body, whereas a silk or satin kind of enrobes the body.

So it gives a slightly different silhouette in that it sits away.

So just keep that in mind when you're shopping, that you're looking for volume in these pieces.

It's going to create volume.
