Chapter 1: What is the shift happening in our wardrobes?
Whoever said orange is the new pink was seriously disturbed. Morals for spring. Groundbreaking.
Oh my gosh! You have to do it. You live for fashion. Hello and welcome to Nothing to Wear, the podcast that solves fashion problems and levels up your wardrobe. I'm Tamara Holland. I'm Mamma Mia's fashion editor.
And I'm Lucinda Pickett, trend forecaster and content creator. Each week we talk all things fashion, whether it's helping you decide what is and isn't worth adding to your wardrobe, or maybe it's just helping you figure out how to make the most out of the clothes you already own. Hello, Tess.
Chapter 2: What is Borecore and how does it influence fashion?
Hello, my friend. You're giving kind of like a grandpa core aesthetic today. I'm loving this fit.
Take me through it. That's literally what I was going for. Grandpa vibes, grandpa core. I don't know. I woke up this morning sort of feeling this vibe and ran with it. So I've just got some dad loafers on, my husband's green socks.
Cute. The execution of the loafers is perfect because I'm really struggling with loafers right now. So I need someone to help me.
And warm as well with this cold weather.
Chapter 3: How can affordable pieces look elevated?
Keeping my feet nice and warm.
Not me still in thongs. I'm holding on.
But, yeah, I've just got some baggy Suvi jeans on, brown belt. This is Suvi as well, actually. It's a little top. Yeah, a little cardi, green cardi. But, yeah, going for the whole grandpa vibe look, I suppose.
Yeah, I love it.
Tell me about you. Tell me about this jacket.

Chapter 4: What are the golden rules for styling denim this season?
I'm really loving it.
I'm wearing like a leather jacket that I've buttoned up essentially as a top with some baggy grey black jeans. But the top is actually it's borrowed from my mother's closet.
It makes it even better. Thanks, Mum. And what colour would you call that? Thorn?
Mushroom. I love that. Mushroomy thorn.
So what are we talking about today? So today we're tackling the big questions. We're going to sink our teeth into some really interesting topics. Firstly, we're looking at the death of logomania.

Chapter 5: How has the concept of luxury fashion evolved?
Very dramatic. We're also looking at, is looking expensive starting to look cheap? Indeed. Also the rise of the bore core movement, what that is and how does it affect our style?
That's right. And if you're anything like us, you've been struggling to find jeans for the season ahead. So in Bougie to Budget, I've got three pairs of denim that I'm loving, but they have a little twist. Yeah. So stay tuned for that.
Awesome. Can't wait. All right. Well, Tam, I would love to hear what's been going on in your fashion orbit, your world. What have you been seeing?
All the luxury brands are collaborating with other shoe brands that we know and love. So making them slightly more accessible. We love that, don't we? Yeah, I know, right?
Chapter 6: What does the West Village Girl aesthetic entail?
Like a little bit more affordable. So a couple that I want to list off. This is everywhere on my feed right now. I don't know about you, but I'm seeing so many. So I want to name drop a few. The first one that just went gangbusters, Isabel Marant with Havianas. Did you see this? I haven't. It was like blinking, you'll miss it. Oh, no. So they're sold out?
I mean, I think there's like maybe some select sizes available, but pretty much sold out. They sold through really quickly. When I last looked, there was like one size available and I almost bought a pair for myself and then I just hesitated at the price. I'm going to tell you why. So let me just break it down.
Chapter 7: How does the rise of minimalist fashion reflect current trends?
So Haviana's revealed a collab with the French luxury fashion house known for its sort of boho aesthetic, Isabelle Marant. and they had these tie-dye print rubber thongs. So your traditional Havianas, just with a little Isabel Marant-inspired twist, they're $168. So that's where I kind of go, okay, yeah, it's really cool. I love Isabel Marant, but $168 is a lot for a Havianas. Exactly right.
So I couldn't quite pull the pin there. But they also did a really great style that was a bit more elevated. It was like a puffy leather strap with embellishment, again, on that rubber thong, and those sold through really fast. So super cool. I think we're going to see more flip-flops. Obviously that's the, you know, it's the American and Euro summer right now.
So to that end, we also have seen Garni, the Danish Scandi brand, like first word in Scandi cool. They have collaborated with Melissa, which is known for its rubber footwear, kind of iconic in that space. And they've done another thong collab, but this is jelly kitten heel thongs as well as just flip-flops.
Chapter 8: What are the best tips for achieving an effortlessly chic look?
And they have this signature ruched jelly strap, which is really cute. And we're talking like $260 for thong heels, which, you know, and it's a fairly accessible price.
You do sort of go, oh, that's not too bad. But then you do remember it is just a rubber thong.
Correct. But then, I mean, Christopher Esbaugh, One of the biggest, you know, Australian designers has a cult rubber shoe, a flip-flop that's somewhere in the realm of like several hundred dollars. Yeah. People are buying that shoe. So I suppose that's the price point that you pay for a luxury rubber thong these days.
The first two brands that you mentioned, Haviana's did a 2024 collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana. Did you see those?
I did. They were very Dolce.
Yeah. The leopard print, the zebra, the embezzlements and whatnot. Yeah. They're still available.
No embezzling happened, but embellishment. Embellishment. Yeah, yeah. So they're still doing this. They're still doing it.
And Isabel Marat, they also partnered with Converse. Have you seen those?
I did, yes.
