Maybe everyone just needs to stop watching it.
Good question.
Do you know what I mean?
People just earn more money, which means they spend more money, which makes the economy just grow and grow and grow.
I think, I don't know, don't quote me on that.
Consumerism is just at its like peak as well.
When I was in grade 9, I lived in Canada in grade 9, and I remember I went to school.
I didn't have a uniform at school.
And I remember, like, I only had maybe two or three hoodies that were, like, cool, and my mum wouldn't buy me any more, and, like, maybe two or three pairs of jeans.
So I just pretty much every day had to rotate between those three outfits.
And I remember being like a little bit embarrassed because all of my friends had like, you know... Like new outfits all the time.
Not heaps all the time, but like, you know, definitely more than three that they rotated between.
My mum didn't really prioritise that and I was only like, I think I had like a casual job.
I couldn't really afford much for myself.
And I remember being like a little bit embarrassed but also kind of like whatever, like it's not like I'm like completely behind.
Yeah.
Imagine now being in grade nine.
If you don't have the latest fucking fandangled trend that's coming on TikTok, the Furbies and the bloody โ
Mecca Beauty Loop and all that bullshit.
Like, it is like... I feel for these kids because the amount of pressure that they're going to have to be buying so much shit is crazy.
