They were driving a little bit unnaturally to try and recharge the battery that would help them go quicker over a full lap.
They've made some changes to that.
Hopefully means the drives can go a bit more flat out in qualifying, especially.
And racing is maybe a little less chaotic, a bit more as they're used to.
So we'll see if those changes have the desired side effects in Miami.
But yeah, that's definitely been the big talking point over the break.
is your read that officials bowed to the demands of the drivers how have you read the the power play there well i think it's always going to be a collaborative effort i think that the the drivers the teams and the officials they're always going to be talking about these things and i think there was a general understanding of these are new rules very very different cars therefore let's give it a few races and kind of see what tweaks we could make and i think there was inevitably going to be this kind of review process
When you do have drivers like Max Verstappen speaking so loudly, saying that the cars are anti-racing and not very fun, you're obviously going to take that into account.
So I think this is hopefully a small positive step towards making some changes and maybe easing some of the concerns that the drivers have.
But yeah, I think it's always going to be a group effort.
And I think that F1, as proud as they might be of these new cars, can definitely recognize some of the areas where they needed to tighten things up a little bit.
well i think the big difference we're going to see is in qualifying i think we're going to see drivers much more flat out than they were through the first few races it was quite often you see the drivers actually losing speed at some of the fastest points of the track purely because how the engine was recharging the battery that hopefully isn't going to happen as much anymore so they are going to be able to go more flat out and it's i guess the more traditional thing you'd categorize with f1 or
any high-level racing.
You want to be high speed, into the corner, late on the brakes, full commitment, which isn't really something they've been doing so far this year.
So I think that'll change a little bit.
And then in the races, we might see a little less of the kind of yo-yo overtaking we've seen back and forth.
In Melbourne, we had that amazing opening sequence with, I think, nine passes for the lead in the first, like, 10 laps or something.
That's maybe going to happen a little bit less now, I think, just because some of the changes they've made.
But hopefully it does make for a more, I guess, normal racing products and something that pleases the drivers as well.
Yeah, I think that after the race in Japan, Max was quite honest about his future, saying that,
