You don't think so?
I like it.
Why is Rock Marcy such a big deal?
I like it.
Why are these guys?
I don't think that the masses represent real hip-hop.
All right.
Lush, I know you're chomping at the bit to react to this.
All of a sudden.
i mean that's such an old conversation that like hip-hop fans had like decades ago of like the harsh realization that hot 97 just has to play a bunch of commercial shit yeah because they have to keep people listening to the radio and that's just how the radio works and especially in this day and age it's like just so easy for people to listen to whatever fucking music they want that's obviously what most people do you know but i feel like what they're
all missing on this topic is just that like there's a million rock marcianos all over the country slow down from but i'm not saying like exactly like him but i'm saying like with his level of fan base that are absolutely not expecting to get on the radio like you know that's just because they know that their music is regional and not not popular enough to to make sense on a major radio station
There's just like 50 cities in America that have a regional rap scene with rappers who are as popular as Rock Marciano.

That's just like a very old school way of expecting the radio to work.
That's the same number of monthly listeners as Lefty Gunplay.
Oh, yeah, and that's great for him, but the reason why that works is because people know that they don't get support by stuff like the radio.
One of the most out-of-touch moments in this, though, is just the fact that Clue feels like...
rappers who have major label backing have like essentially the same chance of their song becoming very popular as any random person who uploads to the internet he has to say that though it's just like that's not really how that works he has to say that because if he didn't then he'd be admitting payola which is technically illegal you're not really supposed to do radio promotion and if you do it has to be not like you have to do it in a very specific way you're not allowed to play for
they get signed to a label aside from the choice few who choose to remain independent.
But at this point, a label is never going to take interest in you unless you have some kind of motion online, unless you have such overwhelming talent that they're just able to see your potential.
