I knew that, I know it now, but 100%.
And also as a songwriter, I think
That's the joy of songwriting.
That's actually what's so amazing about it is you're able to... It's literally like magic.
You're able to turn memories and moments and months and weeks and years into this, like, beautiful, interesting, sweet, funny,
lyrical body of work that so many people respond to and inspires them and makes them dance and sing and laugh and cry.
And that's definitely the point.
In a funny way, it's sort of the inspiration is the smallest part of the record and of the song.
There's so much else in it that comes from me.
And actually, sorry, I'm rambling, but you've reminded me of something.
Somebody asked me the other day,
do you ever send people the songs you write about them or are you ever worried about what they're going to say back to you?
And I kind of was like, you know what?
I don't really write the songs for them.
Even though a lot of my songs are about other people, a lot of the time they're really about my experience and my feelings and...
My interpretation or internalization of the event, I don't really write it for... If I ever do write a song to send to somebody else, I probably have sent that song, because I wrote it to do that.
But that's quite rare.
I'm way more often writing about my own life, my own experience, my own feelings.
I don't really feel the need to share it or to hear a response back.
